Honoring Native American Culture...

Prior to the first settlers, Native American culture permeated this section of the DesPlaines river valley. This land was home to many diverse American Indian tribes – the Ottawa, Ojibwe, Sauk/Fox, Kickapoo, Miami, Potowatomi, Illinois and Shawnee, as well as many others. This area had an abundance of prairies and forests with a wide variety of game for sustenance. The Midwest SOARRING Foundation seeks to educate the public about Native American cultural issues through events like the Native American Fall Gathering.
